Installation

Install ox_target by MrPoulpi Labs — dependencies, backup, exact folder name, replacing the old resource, start order and first in-game test.

Goal: replace your ox_target (or qtarget / qb-target) with this edition without breaking the resources that use it. Files involved: the resources/…/ox_target folder and your server.cfg.

Requirements

Item Requirement observed in the archive
ox_lib Required (dependency 'ox_lib'). Version 3.30.0 minimum, checked at client and server start.
Framework Optional: ESX, QBCore, Qbox, ox_core, ND or none.
Third-party resources Optional: emotes, medical, inventory, notifications, weather, keys, billing, repair, appearance.
ox_core If used: 0.21.3 minimum for the native groups module.
qbx_core If used: 1.18.0 minimum for the native groups module.

The resource declares provide 'qtarget' and provide 'qb-target': scripts calling qtarget or qb-target exports are redirected to it.

Steps

  1. Back up your current ox_target folder and your server.cfg. If you had modified ox_target, write down your options: they must be recreated in config_interactions.lua or stay in your own resources through the exports.

  2. Stop the server, then delete or move out of resources/ the old ox_target resource as well as qtarget and qb-target. Two resources providing the same name conflict.

  3. Copy the folder from the archive into resources/ and name it exactly ox_target. The name matters: other scripts call exports.ox_target, and the NUI uses the resource name for its requests.

  4. Set the start order in server.cfg: ox_lib, your framework, your inventory, then ox_target, then the scripts that add options.

    ensure ox_lib
    ensure es_extended
    ensure ox_inventory
    ensure ox_target
    ensure my_job_scripts

Replace es_extended and ox_inventory with your own resources. The native groups module detects the framework when ox_target starts client side: if the framework starts later, the groups filter of options will not work.

  5. Choose your integrations in config.lua (the Config.*Script section). 'auto' values detect started resources; the exact list is in Integrations.

  6. Start the server and open the server console and F8 on the client.

Checks after start

  • The server console must show no ox_target error while loading. A version message from lib.versionCheck may appear: it compares the resource with Overextended’s releases, not MrPoulpi Labs’.
  • In F8, no yellow [ox_target] line should report an unknown built-in (builtin inconnu), a duplicate option name (nom d'option en double) or an option without a name (option sans 'name' ignorée). The engine prints these messages in French.
  • resmon must show ox_target started once, without separate qtarget or qb-target.

First test

  1. Hold left Alt (default key LMENU): the cursor appears.
  2. Aim at your own character: the Self menu shows up (Mon ID, Faire un /me, Emotes… with the shipped French labels).
  3. Click Mon ID: a notification shows your server ID.
  4. Aim at a vehicle within 2 m of a door: the original door options appear.

If nothing shows up, see Troubleshooting.

Common mistakes

  • Folder named ox_target-main or ox_target(5): other scripts cannot find the ox_target exports. Rename the folder.
  • ox_lib too old: lib.checkDependency blocks the start. Update ox_lib.
  • Old qtarget still started: provide conflict. Remove it from server.cfg.
  • Framework started after ox_target: groups filters have no effect; fix the ensure order.
